Mac connection to External Monitor

Using the Clear EMDR website to show Bilateral Stimulation (BLS when you are in person with your client): There are two common ways to show BLS on a screen in your office when using a Mac laptop.

Many newer Mac laptops use USB-C / Thunderbolt ports. These ports are small, oval-shaped, and can carry video, audio, and power through a single cable. They work with modern monitors using USB-C, HDMI, or DisplayPort connections.

Older Mac laptops may use Mini DisplayPort / Thunderbolt 2 ports. These ports are wider and require a different type of cable or adapter to connect to most external monitors.

To use an external monitor instead of a second device, you will need:

  • A compatible external monitor
  • The correct cable or adapter for your specific Mac port
